Power Outage Due To Heavy Rainfall - Corvallis Campus

CORVALLIS CAMPUS BUILDINGS EXPERIENCE POWER OUTAGE DUE TO 5 INCHES OF RAINFALL SINCE WEDNESDAY - UPDATES BELOW

POWER SERVICE RESTORED on OSU Corvallis Campus

An electrical power service disruption Friday morning, Nov. 24, to several major buildings on Oregon State University’s Corvallis campus has been restored. The power outage is attributed to five inches of rainfall in the mid-Willamette Valley.

Heavy rainfall and rising groundwater tables contributed to interrupt power service to Gill Coliseum, Bloss and Finley residence halls, Dixon Recreation Center and Arnold Dining Center.

As a result, Oregon State’s women’s volleyball match against the University of Oregon scheduled for noon today in Gill was postponed to a 2 p.m. start. A men’s basketball game against Fresno State scheduled for 6 p.m. will occur as scheduled.

Crews from Oregon State Facilities Services and Pacific Power worked together to restore power service to these buildings.

Meanwhile, power service has been restored to Nash Hall, the Women's Building, Gilmore Hall, Ballard Hall and Withycombe Hall. These buildings were affected by a separate weather-related power outage that occurred Thursday evening, Nov. 24.

UPDATE, POWER OUTAGE (11/25, 9:55 a.m.):

The volleyball match between Oregon State University and the University of Oregon has been reschedule to 2 p.m. at Gill Coliseum. Crews expect to have power restored by that time.
