Funding your College Education

Oregon State University is dedicated to your success. The following scholarships have been developed with international students in mind. Some of the scholarships listed will be automatically considered for every new OSU application, but many scholarships require the student to find and apply independently. We've compiled a list of resources that you should look into for more funding options. 

OSU Provost's International Scholarship

Competitive scholarships are offered to exceptional international students. Award amounts vary and are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study if renewal requirements are met. No separate scholarship application is required.

$6,000 to $9,000 / year, up to 4 years

OSU International Cultural Service Program

The International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) began at OSU in 1983 and offers scholarships to international students in exchange for helping their academic college internationalize. Recipients will act as ambassadors for their countries and participate in cultural awareness-building activities.

INTO OSU Regional Scholarship

The INTO OSU Regional Scholarship is designed to help students financially access award-winning academic and English programs in the US. Education counselors may contact their local INTO representative for more information or to initiate an application.

INTO OSU Honorary Scholarship

Our former colleagues, Ian Sanders and Nancy Heiligman, both demonstrated tremendous commitment, leadership, and dedication to the establishment of INTO Oregon State University. In their honor, it is INTO OSU’s pleasure to award scholarships to students exhibiting this same kind of leadership, commitment, and dedication to pursuits in higher education.

$12,000 tuition + $13,000 accommodations

INTO OSU Merit-based Scholarship 

Designed to help INTO OSU Pathway students finance their programs, the Merit-Based Scholarship will be awarded to those students who excel academically.

  • 2.9 overall GPA for undergraduate
  • Fully admitted to an INTO OSU Pathway

 

INTO OSU Continued Success Scholarship

The INTO OSU Continued Success Scholarship helps students finance studies in a full OSU graduate or undergraduate program after a Pathway program. Regardless of academic performance prior to the Pathway, this scholarship allows students to start anew and earn recognition for performing well in the US. This applies only to the year immediately following a Pathway program.

  • 3.4 overall GPA during Pathway
  • Meet all progression requirements after a Pathway program
  • Fully admitted to an OSU program

 

ISAS Scholarships for Continuing International Students

Comprised of several scholarships, this collection requires just one application.

Averages $1,000-$3,000 / term

Ali & Shahina Piyarali International Program Scholarship

Generous patrons of Oregon State University International Programs provide an Ali & Shahina Piyarali International Program Scholarship to selected study abroad and international internship participants and international students, both graduate and undergraduate based on academic promise and financial need.

Scholarships by Individual Colleges

Students may qualify for scholarships based on their major or college within the university. OSU maintains a searchable Scholarship Database to help find funding based on your immigration status, GPA and more. You may also contact the college/department you’ll be studying with to find more information about available funding.

OSU Opportunity Scholarships

Benton County, where OSU is located, offers several scholarships for international students.

  • The Joel R. Friend Scholarship is available to students from Thailand and Taiwan
  • The Lucy Hsu Ho Scholarship is available to students from China
  • The Hugh & Helen Wood Nepalese Scholarship is available to students from Nepal
