OSU Admissions Blog welcomes a new author- Julie Walkin

September 1st, 2006 at 8:12 am

(new title added 9/5/06)
This past January, I joined the Office of Admissions as the interim assistant director of international admissions following three years as an international student advisor at OSU. Fortunately, I’m quite familiar with the myriad of student support services and the range of programs and activities available at OSU. I also feel fortunate to know so many wonderful colleagues on the OSU campus…colleagues both in academia and student affairs, who are committed to creating an environment that is internationally-minded and culturally-sensitive, and who appreciate the diversity of perspectives and experiences that students from different parts of the world bring to OSU.

Brief bio about myself: BA in International Relations from the University of Minnesota (‘93) and MA in International Development Education also from the U of M (‘96). In ’91-‘92, I was a year-long international exchange student at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang…a truly wonderful experience! For the past 12 years, I’ve worked in the field of International Education in several states including Minnesota, California, Texas and Oregon.

Throughout the year, I look forward to contributing updates, helpful hints and accolades concerning our prospective and current international student community at Oregon State University.

    Hi, Julie.

Hope all is well for you. Janet and I have often wondered where you have landed. J’s living in San Fran and working for Monster Cable. I’m still in Gopherland–someone had to stay here to turn the runway lights on and off when you all fly home.
