I've updated everything in the projects group to provide better support for CDM 4.0.

Here's the link to the presentation that I gave
at CONTENTdm Usergroup meeting at ALA MidWinter. It includes
sample XSLTs and the powerpoint: ala_midwinter2005.zip

I've posted the presentation slides from my small piece of the CONTENTdm usergroup web
meeting this afternoon. The slides can be downloaded from: http://oregonstate.edu/~reeset/contentdm/presentation/2004_05_09.ppt

I've posted updates to the XML Gateway and the Dynamic Index Generator code. The changes
are noted in the header of each script.

Thanks to Su Shaoyu for letting me know that there was a bug in the mycart.php script
in the premoveNode function. The problem would only manifest itself if the user removed and item,
then refreshed their window. In that case, too many items would be removed. The script has been
corrected.

I uploaded a new tool and updated the Controlled Vocabulary analyzer. The new tool allows you to generate a
dynamic, hyperlinked A-Z list for any metadata field that utilizes a controlled vocabulary.

One of the things that I find difficult at times, is doing authority control in CONTENTdm. Sure, you
can use a controlled vocabulary, but during analysis between collections is sometimes a trick. So I decided to
write a script that will help me do Controlled Vocabulary Analysis. The tool is written in PERL and will analyze
all terms for all projects on a designated server, or will analyze selected projects from a designated server (this
way, if you have a project that doesn't utilize a standard Control Vocab, you can keep it from tainting the
analysis. The tool has been posted on the projects page. Feel free to take a look and download it.

Hooray, it's up. So what is it? This small little corner of the web is going to be dedicated to custom
programming and documentation currently being worked on at Oregon State University (OSU). I figure this will allow me to
do a better job documenting changes that we are making to our local system, as well as make code available to the
CONTENTdmTM user community at large. For those of
you that might have stumbled upon this site, CONTENTdmTM is the content
management system that Oregon State University utilizes to manage and display a number of its image collections. If you'd
like to take a look, just go to http://digitalcollections.library.oregonstate.edu. Anyway, the code and documentation found on these pages
are devoted entirely to working with the CONTENTdmTM package. Please feel free to look it over and download
anything that you think might be useful. What's mine is yours. However, if you do download a package and make
significant changes that might help other users, please let me know and send me a copy of the source so I can make it
available as a part of these packages. And if you have an interesting project, code, site that you'd like me to link to,
host, etc...just let me know. There are a lot of folks currently working with CONTENTdm, and I think it would be nice to
know who they all are.
Cheers, Terry
