The outside of the north addition to Magruder has almost been completed. All of the brick veneer on the west and east side and lower north side has been laid. The second floor and roof cement has been poured and most of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing connections are in place. Installation of the window glass is scheduled for completion by the end of September.
The treadmill building and isolation facility have had the concrete poured and masonry completed. Brick veneer will be completed by mid-October.
In my opinion the arena is the showcase of the entire project. The Glulams, which are the support beams for the arena roof, are an architectural marvel. Each beam (13 total) is 80 feet long, 3 feet high and nine inches thick made of pieces of absolutely gorgeous Port Orford cedar wood glued/laminated together and weighing 5500 pounds. The tongue-in-groove wood boards which go on top of the beams will be completed by September 14 – 10,000 square feet of beautiful wood that will be visible from inside the arena. On top of the wood boards will be ½- inch plywood sheeting followed by a standing seam metal roof which should be completed by mid-October.
The radiology remodel has been completed and the ICU remodel is 75 % completed. The large animal reception office remodel begins this month. During construction the office will be relocated to temporary trailers.
