Student Affairs Assessment Council Group Award 2004-05
Statement of Wonderfulness
In Celebration of
Division of Student Affairs Assessment Council
We honor the Student Affairs Assessment Council with the Division of Student Affairs Collaborative Group Award. The Council has exemplified the spirit of collaboration through its energetic pursuit of assessment. The Council has consistently gone beyond their call of duty and the boundaries of their charge to learn, lead, and develop positive relationships across the division. The members of the Council have constantly modeled the campus compact by stepping forward from their individual professional positions and providing leadership for the division’s assessment planning.
Members of the Council have spent countless hours collectively and individually enhancing their own and the group’s learning about assessment. They have become a outstanding example of high performance and collaborative learning. The Committee consistently explores approaches to share their knowledge within the division and throughout the University. Their work and focused attention on the importance of learning outcomes has moved departments and the entire division beyond our typical delivery of assessment. Their work has touched every aspect of our work in Student Affairs. They have created a culture of assessment and a focus on learning outcomes division-wide. Their work increased the quality of programs, practices and services throughout our organizations by creating processes through which data is used as the source of changes in what we do and how things are done. They have truly led our division to become a better organization.
Because of this dedicated Council, the Division of Student Affairs has taken a leadership role for assessment on our campus. The Council was responsible for creating and staffing the successful two-day Assessment Symposium.
The momentum created by the Symposium will influence our university, departments, and students for years to come. The Symposium has helped the entire university community to further embrace a new paradigm focused on learning outcomes. This is the kind of leadership that typifies the Assessment Council and serves as a standard for exemplary collaborative leadership and makes it worthy of our admiration and this recognition.
