The agenda for the April Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below.
To be approved are the minutes of the March Senate meeting, as published and distributed to Senators.

SPECIAL REPORTS

Salem Update
Jock Mills, Director of Government Relations, will provide a brief recap of bills pending and budget issues under consideration by the Legislature.

Athletics Update
Bob De Carolis, Athletic Director, will report on the recent NCAA Convention and provide updates on athletic issues, including the budget deficit.

Interinstitutional Faculty Senate
IFS Senator Mina Carson will provide a brief recap of the April IFS meeting.

Legislative Report
Senator Frank Morse will make a brief presentation regarding the current legislative session, including the budget process. He will also answer questions about pending legislative actions.

Committee Interest Form
The Committee Interest Form to
indicate a preference for serving on University and Faculty Senate committees
and councils is available for online submission. When possible, Faculty Senate
committee/council members are selected from those who respond to the Committee
Interest Form. Please consider volunteering for committees; faculty are eligible
this year to select three university committees and three Faculty Senate Committees.
Standing Rules
for each Faculty Senate committee/council are available for viewing online. Please contact the
Faculty Senate Office
if you have difficulty accessing the form.

Sexual Harassment Workshop
Tuesday, April 19 - 2:00-4:00 PM- LaSells Stewart Center Construction Engineering Hall
Understanding sexual harassment is a responsibility of all employees at OSU. We must be compliant
with the legal mandates of Title IX as they pertain to sexual harassment. Also learn about
student-on-student claims and how these should be addressed by faculty and administrators.
This workshop is geared especially for faculty, deans, department heads, staff, and Student
Affairs professionals, to help assure compliance with Title IX, proper reporting, and appropriate
responses, including how to deal with discomfort and distress, when a situation is disclosed to
you.
Brett Sokolow, founder and president of the National Center
for Higher Education Risk Management (NCHERM), provides nationwide consulting, seminars,
training and publications on: Sexual Assault/Harassment; Judicial Affairs; Campus Security;
Hazing; and Problem Drinking/Drugs.

Parking Permit Survey
As Vincent Martorello indicated at the March Faculty Senate meeting, the
university community will have the opportunity to participate in a survey
to determine the design of the 2005-06 hang tag parking permits. The survey
takes less than three minutes to complete and can be found at
https://secure.oregonstate.edu/survey/24.

Fixed-Term Faculty Task Force Responses
Responses to recommendations found in the Fixed-Term Faculty Task Force Final Report
have been released by the OSU Administration.
