Len Friedman, Curriculum Council Chair, will present three Category I proposals for approval: establish a Ph.D. in Materials Science, rename the Department of Bioresource Engineering to Department of Bioengineering, and rename the B.S. in Biological Engineering to B.S. in Bioengineering

- Higher Education Rally
A Higher Education rally will be held Tuesday, March 6 from 10:30 am -
noon at the State Capitol in Salem. Please access the associated web site
for information about students possibly missing class to attend the rally.
- Fireside Chat
OSU President Paul G. Risser will hold conversations with members of the OSU community in the MU Lounge from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on March 7. According
to Dr. Risser, the purpose is to "Engage in lively conversation about Oregon State University in an inviting environment."
- Diversity Council
The organizational meeting of the Faculty Senate Diversity Council will be held March 5 from 3:30-5:00 in the Memorial Union LaRaza Room. Invitations
have been extended to campus units participating in OSU's diversity related activities. The meeting is open to the public.
As part of the 10-year accreditation review of OSU, a team of evaluators will be visiting campus April 18-20. The self study draft is available
