Len Friedman, Curriculum Council Chair, will present three Category I proposals for approval: establish a Ph.D. in Materials Science, rename the Department of Bioresource Engineering to Department of Bioengineering, and rename the B.S. in Biological Engineering to B.S. in Bioengineering

B. SPECIAL REPORTS
1. Central Oregon Branch Campus
Linda Johnson, Director, OSU Central Oregon, will report on the status of the branch campus.
2. Trademark and Licensing
Sandie Franklin, Trademark and Licensing Chair, will provide a brief background of the Task Forces' work.
C. INFORMATION ITEMS
1. Higher Education Rally
A Higher Education rally will be held Tuesday, March 6 from 10:30 am -
noon at the State Capitol in Salem. Please access the associated web site

for information about students possibly missing class to attend the rally. 2. Fireside Chat
OSU President Paul G. Risser will hold conversations with members of the OSU community in the MU Lounge from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on March 7. According to Dr. Risser, the purpose is to "Engage in lively conversation about Oregon State University in an inviting environment." 3. Diversity Council
The organizational meeting of the Faculty Senate Diversity Council will be held March 5 from 3:30-5:00 in the Memorial Union LaRaza Room. Invitations have been extended to campus units participating in OSU's diversity related activities. The meeting is open to the public.
4. Accreditation
As part of the 10-year accreditation review of OSU, a team of evaluators will be visiting campus April 18-20. The self study draft is available on the web at: http://osu.orst.edu/accreditation/. Comments regarding the self study or accreditation process may be e-mailed to accredit@orst.edu.
