The agenda for the October Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below. To be approved are the minutes of the May and June Senate meetings, as published and distributed to Senators.
A. DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. Graduate Student Unionization

Sally Francis, Interim Graduate School Dean, Jacque Rudolph, Human Resources Director, and Andy Hashimoto, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, will discuss the graduate student unionization plans and impacts, if approved.

2. AAUP Concerns Regarding Post-Tenure Review

Rubin Landau will represent AAUP and present concerns regarding Post-Tenure Review.

B. SPECIAL REPORTS
Budget

Rob Specter, Vice President for Finance & Administration, will report on the budget allocation to OSU.

C. COMMITTEE REPORTS

Bylaws and Nominations Committee

Maggie Niess , Chair, will discuss the nomination process for Faculty Senate President-Elect and Executive Committee and Interinstitutional Faculty Senators.

D. INFORMATION ITEMS
1. Curriculum Proposal Workshop

Anyone Involved with Curriculum Development or Review is invited to attend a Curriculum Proposal Workshop on Friday, October 15, from 9:00-11 AM in 122 Crop & Soil Science Building. Everything you might want to know about submitting successful Category I and II curriculum proposals will be covered: what they are, where you can find the forms and status reports, how to fill out and submit the forms, and the review process. Experienced curriculum proposal writers as well as new comers will benefit from this workshop.

2. Faculty Senate Fall Elections

Maggie Niess, Bylaws and Nominations Chair, is accepting recommendations for 1) President-Elect, 2) Executive Committee members, and 3) Interinstitutional Faculty Senate representatives. Nominations may be forwarded to her in Science & Math Education or via electronic mail at niessm@ucs.orst.edu. Deadline for nominations is October 8. NOTE: If Senators wish to make a nomination from the floor at the November meeting, they must have prior approval from the nominee.

3. Faculty Senate Calender

Please reserve the following dates for Faculty Senate meetings. Please check your monthly agenda to determine the location. All meetings are scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM.
