Winter Wonderings provides a variety of challenging, engaging Saturday courses designed specifically for gifted, talented, and high-ability 3rd & 4th, and 5th & 6th graders. Program participants discover new and exciting areas of study in a fast-paced learning environment.
Courses meet six Saturdays (January 23, 30; February 6, 20, 27; March 6, 2010) on the Oregon State University campus. Three sessions are offered each Saturday: 9:15-10:35 am, 10:40-12:00 noon, and 12:25-1:45 pm.
Participation - Students may participate in one, two, or all three course sessions. Each course meets for 80 minutes each week for 6 weeks. Precollege TAG Programs reserves the right to change instructors, if necessary.
A supervised lunchroom will be available noon -12:25 pm for students who enroll in a course at BOTH 10:40 am AND 12:25 pm. Students provide their own lunch and beverage.
Fees - Winter Wonderings is funded by student fees and tax-deductible donations. Tuition is $65 for one course, $130 (total) for two courses, or $195 (total) for three courses.
Donations are sought to enable Winter Wonderings to provide financial assistance to students from families with low income. By including a donation with your child's tuition you will assist another child whose family's financial situation would not allow them to otherwise benefit from participation in a Winter Wonderings course. Please note donation amount on your check's memo line. Thank you for your tax-deductible donation!
Submit checks payable to OSU with the completed Personal Data Form (for 3rd/4th grader or for 5th/6th grader) and completed Eligibility Verification Form. The application deadline is December 30, 2009; however, late applications are accepted for courses which still have spaces available.
