Expeditions for TAG & High-Ability 3rd and 4th graders is an educational summer program designed to provide an enjoyable, stimulating learning environment aimed to meet the particular needs of these students while in the company of other capable learners.
Oregon State University Precollege Programs sponsors Expeditions which has been developed with guidance from an advisory board of OSU personnel, public school staff, area TAG specialists, and parents.

he half-day morning sessions are held in a Corvallis Public School. Classes meet for ten days, Mondays-Fridays, July 12-23, 2010, 8:45 a.m. to noon. Program participants explore and receive instruction in areas of interest not usually available to them during the regular school year.
Program
Expeditions participants attend three hours of classes each morning. Students select courses from a proposed list of courses that will be available in early April. A partial listing of possible course offerings includes:
Aeromodeling, chemistry, drawing, drama, foreign languages, math, marvelous machines
The program focuses on enabling young learners to stretch their minds as they explore and investigate topics and areas of knowledge about which they are curious and interested.
Before-class care
Before-class care is available beginning at 7:40 a.m. at a cost of $25 for the two weeks. No lunch accommodations or provisions are available.
Transportation
Parents may make arrangements for supervised afternoon youth activities by contacting OSU KidSpirit at 541-737-7597. A van transports Expeditions students who are also registered for KidSpirit to OSU at noon for a fee of $55 for the two weeks.
Bus transportation to and from Expeditions is planned from the areas of and around Dallas, Lebanon, Monmouth/Independence, Salem, and Sweet Home.
