Application Procedure--Applications are still being accepted!
The application process has two parts:1) Parent/guardian online information and 2) Materials from Applicant Verification that the applicant meets one of the Eligibility Criteria is required.Getting StartedFamilies who have enrolled a child in a previous OSU Precollege Program (Expeditions, Winter Wonderings, Adventures in Learning, STEM Academy, or KidSpirit) should log in using the same email address and password used for those previous registrations. Families who have not previously used the OSU Precollege Programs online registration system will need to set up a new account with password and answers to security questions. Families unable to access the online application should contact Adventures in Learning at 541-737-2403 to request an application form be mailed to them. Completing the ApplicationWhen completing the AIL application process, parents/guardians should be prepared to provide information about their child’s intellectual, behavioral, and social characteristics, work with others in group settings, strategies to assure the child has a positive academic and social experience, and any special services The submitted information is not used as admission criteria. It assists program staff in designing instruction and activities to meet the needs of enrolled students. The most beneficial materials are thoughtful, complete, and designed to help the staff gain insight into each applicant and their strengths and interests. Materials from ApplicantPlease share an academic interest(s) or excitement(s). It can be either in or out of school. By way of an electronic document, letter, essay, poster, or web page, describe: • Information about the interest(s). • Your best learning experience associated with this interest. • How you are continuing to pursue your interest. Notification of acceptance to AIL and the course packet will be sent in April to the email address listed in the student’s online application. After being accepted into the program, the student may begin the Registration process. Students then select courses in which they wish to participate during Registration. These selections must be returned with a nonrefundable $100 deposit by April 25, 2013. The balance is due June 25, 2013.
