Thursday, April 17, 2014, OSURA Tour of WILDLIFE SAFARI, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
A Guided tour of the fabulous Wildlife Safari in Winston, Oregon. Pre-registration is required for this tour. (See details below.)
Schedule of events for April 17th:
Registered participants will board a motor coach at the OSU Foundation parking lot at the northwest corner of 35th St. and Western Blvd. You may leave your car in the north end of the Foundation parking lot. Please be on time. The motor coach will leave at 8:30 AM.
We will arrive at the Wildlife Safari facility in Winston at about 10:30 AM. Attendees will be free to explore Safari Village which offers a beautiful walk-through area with over 300 of their smaller animals, a theater, a petting zoo, and a gift shop. You can also take a ride on their train for a fee of $2.00 per person.
At about 11:30 AM attendees can stop for lunch at the Village Café. They offer burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, soup and chili with the usual sides and beverages. The prices range from about $8 to $12 including sides and beverage. Lunch is on your own.
Following lunch at about 1 PM, we will take a motorized guided tour through the large animal part of the facility. The tour will take about 1-1/2 hours.
At the conclusion of the tour about 2:30 to 3:00 PM we will board the motor coach for the return to Corvallis by about 5:00 PM.
The MTR Western motor coach we have reserved can accommodate 55 people and has a restroom. Please let us know if you have special mobility needs.
The registration fee for this tour is $35 per person. That includes a reduced admission fee to Wildlife Safari of $13 for people 60 and older, plus some of the cost of the motor coach. We need at least 40 people to make the trip economically feasible. Each attendee will be on his/her own for lunch.
We must have an accurate count of participants to plan for the bus, the restaurant and the tours. The program cost is $35 per person, mostly to help defray the cost of the motor coach. Make checks payable to OSURA, and write in the memo area “OSURA Wildlife Safari Tour.” If you plan to attend, please submit payment with your reservation on or before March 13th to Kelly DiCristina, Event Coordinator, University Events, 209 Adams Hall, Corvallis, Oregon 97331.
