Competitive Search Requirements
- Oregon State University (OSU) has a long-established practice of filling the majority of employment openings by conducting open/competitive recruitments, and filling a small subset of employment openings through the use of non-competitive hires (e.g. temporary staff appointments, academic wage appointments, or approved waivers of unclassified search). Changes in Federal law necessitated that the competitive search requirements be updated, effective December 19, 2013. Please read the requirements related to these changes, and contact your Business Center, or Anne Gillies, in the Office of Equity and Inclusion (541-737-0865), or Robbin Sim, in the Office of Human Resources (541-737-3203) with any questions about this update or the flowcharts.
Accelerated Search for Unclassified Positions
Under certain circumstances a Business Center Human Resources Manager may authorize an accelerated search for an unclassified position.
