A winter storm expected to bring cold temperatures and additional snow to the Willamette Valley over the next 24 hours is unlikely to cause significant problems for Oregon State University, but emergency management officials encourage students, faculty, staff and campus visitors to exercise caution on Thursday morning as they travel to the Corvallis campus. The campus is expected to be open on Thursday under normal operating conditions. Though neither a delay nor a closure are expected, any change in campus plans would be posted on the OSU home page, at alert.oregonstate.edu and would be recorded on the OSU Emergency Information line at 541-737-8000. Changes in campus plans made after hours would be available via all those channels no later than 6 a.m. the following morning. During this challenging weather, individuals are encouraged to use their best judgment to determine whether traveling to campus is safe, if they are in areas where road conditions or other circumstances make the commute hazardous.
