This Timely Warning is distributed as a means of informing the Oregon State University community of a recent incident of public interest.  The event described below continues to be of concern with regard to personal safety and/or the protection of property.

Please read the following information carefully.  This will help you to make an informed decision about your response to this incident.


The Corvallis Police Department has released information about a robbery that occurred in the area of NW 11th St. & NW Monroe Ave. at approximately 7:45pm. A female was approached from behind by a stranger who grabbed her backpack and stole her purse and money. The subject then fled the area, heading east on NW Monroe Ave. The subject is a male of unknown age, wearing a black hoodie and dark jeans, and did not display any weapons.

If you should see this subject, call 9-1-1 immediately and do not approach. If you have any information about this incident or the subject described above, please contact the Corvallis Police Department at 541-766-6911.
