The Oregon State Police have recently received multiple reports of unwanted physical contact. In all incidents the female victim was approached by a male suspect who asked for directions to a Corvallis location. In the first incident the suspect followed the victim for a short distance before fleeing the area.

Thursday at noon, Benton County Commissioner Jay Dixon signed a declaration of local emergency/disaster for the unincorporated areas of Benton County. Corvallis City Manager Jim Patterson also declared an emergency within the corporate limits of the City of Corvallis.

Police have determined that no bullets or bullet holes were located at International House, 620 N.W. 27th St., where gunshots were heard around 6 Wednesday morning. It appears bullets were fired into the ground in an area south of the structure.

This message is to inform OSU students, faculty and staff that shots were fired this morning at an off-campus residence where multiple students reside. There were no injuries in the incident. However, we are notifying campus community members, as there have been no suspects arrested in the matter.
