Morrill Act

Under the Morrill Land-Grant Act of 1862, Oregon received 90,000 acres of federal land to establish and fund a public institution of teaching, research and service, what would later become Oregon State University.
Come learn more about our land grant heritage and take away a soil sample from one of the original tracts of land on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Kerr Administration Building lobby by the Visitor Center.
