They provide food as well as entertainment and industry. Unfortunately, due to the heavy population gathered near coastal zones, degradation of those habitats is inevitable. Marine pollution is a common problem in coastal areas that can be seriously damaging to organisms and habitats. Integrated coastal zone management was created to combat environmental issues such as marine pollution, by coordinating efforts of all stakeholders involved.
