fsaAtlas is SunGard’s international student and scholar database system, and the interface between Banner and the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). It allows the University to batch data to the SEVIS system and thus maintain compliance with government regulations and deadlines. Depending on a user's roles and permissions, use of fsaAtlas will require knowledge of applicable U.S. federal regulations, state rules, and OSU policies regarding international students, faculty, scholars and their families.
SunGard’s fsaAtlas is used primarily by four offices at Oregon State University: International Admissions, INTO OSU, the Graduate School, and International Student Advising and Services (ISAS). Access into fsaAtlas will only be granted to those OSU and INTO OSU employees who have a legitimate "Educational need to know." "Educational need to know" means that one's official employment appointment to OSU requires one to use the data stored in this system. For student records, this requires FERPA training. Users of fsaAtlas should also be familiar with OSU's Acceptable Use of University Computing Resources policy and the Banner Information Systems homepage.
