Orientation Description:
At the beginning of each term, International Student and Faculty Services (ISFS) holds a mandatory orientation program for new international students. This program is designed to provide you with valuable information and facilitate your transition to OSU. By participating in the International Student Orientation, you will gain essential information about:
- immigration rules and regulations that affect your visa status
- student health services and health insurance requirements at OSU
- academic life at OSU and how to register for classes
- campus and community resources
- opportunities to meet other new international and domestic students at OSU
All newly admitted international students are required to attend orientation and the immigration document check-in. If you do not attend both, International Student and Faculty Services will place a hold on your registration. If you are unable to attend one or both of these sessions, please contact International Student and Faculty Services at 541-737-6310 or email ISAS.Advisor@oregonstate.edu. To cover the cost of orientation, all students will be charged an orientation fee of $35 (winter and spring terms) or $50 (fall term). This fee will be automatically charged to your OSU student account.
Immigration Document Check-in:
In addition to the orientation, international students are also required to come to the Immigration Document Check-In and bring the documents or copies listed on the following link: Documents to Bring for IDC.
Visa Make-up Session Schedule:
If you are not able to arrive in the US by the Orientation date, you may sign up for a make-up session at the front desk of our office, room A110 in the Kerr Administration Building, or by calling 541-737-6310.
Students who fail to attend both the mandatory International Student Orientation and the Immigration Document Check In will have a HOLD placed on their records. If you are unable to attend one or both of the sessions above, please contact International Student and Faculty Services at 541-737-6310 or email ISAS.Advisor@oregonstate.edu.
