Oregon State University

Welcome!

Message from the Associate Provost

Sunil Khanna

On behalf of the Division of International Programs, I would like to welcome all new and returning international students to the 2012-2013 academic year.

We are very proud that you have chosen Oregon State University as a place to study. In doing so, you have chosen to study at a university that not only has some of the best and highly ranked academic programs, but it also has a large and diverse international student population. Close to 2,500 international students are currently studying at Oregon State University.

Also, the city of Corvallis - the home of Oregon State University - is one of the best places to live and study in the United States. People from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and nationalities call this city their home. I am confident that you will feel very much welcomed here in Corvallis.

I know that in just a few days you will all get busy with classes and much of your time will be spent studying, doing homework, and preparing for exams. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to take advantage of a variety of social activities that the OSU community offers. We have a number of student organizations, associations, and clubs for you to get engaged with and enjoy campus life, make new friends, and get the most out of your time here at Oregon State University. OSU’s culture is very supportive, especially for international students who are making such an important transition in their lives.

As always, the staff of the Division of International Programs is here to help you. Please do not hesitate to ask any one of our staff if you have any questions or need help. We are all here to make your experience at OSU as enjoyable as possible.

Once again, thank you and welcome to Oregon State University!

Sunil Khanna, Associate Provost for International Programs
