Program Schedule
Fall Term 2007

Welcome back to TRIAD for the 2007-2008 academic year!

The big news is that we will be returning to the Memorial Union as the venue for our weekly lunches! We are hoping that being at the center of campus will make it easier for faculty to make it to our weekly lunches. We look forward to seeing familiar faces who were not able to attend regularly when we were located in Arnold Dining Hall.

Since the MU already had several bookings for MU 109, we were only able to reserve space for 6 of the ten weeks in Fall quarter. We have a full ten weeks of MU space reserved for Winter and Spring 2008. Thus, it is important that everyone carefully reserve the following dates for the Fall 2007 TRIAD program:

September 27

Tom Shellhammer

Fermentation Science

October 4

Scholarship Winners

Scholarship Presentations

October 25

Robert Brudvig

I've got Rhythm...I've got Music

November 1

Michelle Inderbitzen

Reaching Into the Oregon Prison System through Teaching

November 8

Annette Von Jouanne

Wave Energy Research

November 29

Musical Event

Holiday Party

Remember: There are only six (6) Triad lunches scheduled for Fall 2008.

The other change is that Kate Hunter-Zaworski has taken over the responsibility of Treasurer. Thus, your TRIAD annual dues of $30 should be sent to Kate at: Kate Hunter-Zaworski, TRIAD Treasurer, School of Civil and Construction Engineering, Owen 220, Corvallis , OR 97331-3212 .

Chris Crabtree will continue to serve as the coordinator of the lunches and active members should be sure to call her no later that 12 noon on the Monday of a week in which they will not be attending a meeting. Otherwise, you will be charged for the meal. If you have not cancelled and find that you are unable to attend, please let us know and we will invite a non-member faculty member to make use of your lunch. This way we hope to prevent the waste of food that has occurred when members have not cancelled and we can introduce someone new to TRIAD.

Hope to see you all in the Fall!

Starr McMullen, Larry Pribyl and Kate Hunter-Zaworski

For the convenience of our members who drive to our lunches: The OSU Shuttle is now operating 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the academic year. The shuttle now provides 15-minute service to many campus locations. The route map/time schedule brochure is available on the Transit and Parking Services (TAPS) Web site or obtain a copy onboard the shuttle buses, at the TAPS office, 100 Adams Hall, or at other outlets. Info: transitandparkingservices@oregonstate.edu or 737-2583.
