Pride 2007 will be held May 21st thru May 25th. Below is a description of the programs that are being put on including pre-pride programs. All programs are in order of date and time.

      Safe Space Training - Kidder 128
    Friday, May 18, 2007 -- 1-4pm
    The LGBT Advocacy Team presents Safe Space Training for OSU students, staff and faculty who are interested in becoming allies to the LGBT community. The training will focus on basic LGBT concepts & theories; strategies on how to create a safe and inclusive learning environment; and skills on how to confront homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and heterosexism.       Tom Spanbauer - Owen 106
    Friday, May 18, 2007 -- 4pm
    Tom Spanbauer, Portland author of Now is the Hour and The Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon, will read from his work, do a booksigning, and answer questions. He is a Pulitzer nominee and winner of the Pacific Northwest Bookseller Association Award.

      Pride Week Kickoff BBQ - MU Quad
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 11:30am-1pm
    Join us for the opening BBQ of Queer Pride Week, with free food in the quad. A note to BBQ purists: the meal won't be traditional barbeque food, although it will be tasty - and include vegetarian options. This year the BBQ will be accompanied by live music from local artist Johanna.

      Live Homosexual Acts - MU Quad
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 12-1pm
    Think you know what lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and ally folks really do?   Come find out what the secret agenda is for the queer movement.  Discretion is advised.

      Lunchbox Series: Empowering Teaching Methods - MU 208
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 1:30-2:30pm
    People experience oppression everywhere, even in the classroom. How do we work to make classrooms safer spaces for all folks? How do we help people believe in their ability to enact change? Come learn about a philosophy and methods of teaching that tries to accomplish these things.

      LGBT People of Color-a Musical History - MU 208
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 4-5pm
    In the Borderlands is a candid and informal discussion of the group-specific issues facing people of color in the LGBT community with respect to coming to terms with one's sexuality, coming out, and living as an out LGBT person. Topics to be addressed include cultural pressures, discrimination, and racism within the LGBT community.

      Out in the Underground - Art Show Reception - Fairbanks Basement
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 4:30-5:30pm
    An opportunity to affirm Queer and Ally communities through art, as it relates to the Queer Pride Celebration and the theme this year, “Beyond Binaries.” The art exhibits will also be open all week long during Pride Week.

      Circle of Color Meeting - Women's center
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 5:30-6:30pm
    Come join the Circle of Color meeting. Discussion centers around people of color and the LGBTQQIA life experiences. All are welcome.

      Rainbow Continuum - Women's Center
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 7-9pm
    The Rainbow Continuum's weekly Monday night meeting will still happen during Pride Week, too! Stop on by to pick up information about Pride Week and to have some good social fun. Free snacks will be provided.

      Sexual Spelling Bee - MU Lounge
    Monday, May 21, 2007 -- 9pm
    Participants are given the opportunity to win prizes by spelling words that are sexual in nature. Run like a typical middle school spelling bee-you’ll laugh like a middle schooler and you might even learn something too.

      Lunchbox Series: Queer Women's Health - MU 208
    Tuesday, May 22, 2007 -- 12-1pm
    A lunch box discussion about sexual and emotional health issues that queer women might face in their everyday lives, such as coming out to your doctor, therapist, friends, and family, STI transmission from woman to woman, healthy emotional relationships and other sexuality issues that aren’t discussed in heteronormative spaces.

      Coming Out Faithful: Being Who You are Everywhere - MU 208
    Tuesday, May 22, 2007 -- 2-3:30pm
    This program will explore how LGBT people of faith seek to be whole persons fully integrating all of who they are as human beings.  Panelists will share personal stories of their experiences of coming out as queer in their faith communities and coming out as a person of faith, particularly Christian and Jewish, in the LGBT community.  Additionally, Christian and Jewish leaders from welcoming congregations in the Corvallis community, will share more about their faith communities' stances on inclusion of all God's children.

      Hierarchy of Oppression - MU 206
    Tuesday, May 22, 2007 -- 2m-3:30pm
    This program will explore the hierarchy of oppression explaining both what it is and how it works.

      Guess the Het Panel - MU Lounge
    Tuesday, May 22, 2007 -- 3:30-5pm
    Think you can pick out who fits where in the LGBTQQIA acronym? This panel breaks the myth that people can tell what sexual or gender identity someone has simply by looking or speaking to them. This program is done as a panel style where the audience is allowed to ask almost any question to try and figure out where each contestant identifies in the LGBTQQIA acronym.

      Trans 201: Beyond Gender Binaries - MU 208
    Tuesday, May 22, 2007 -- 4-5:30pm
    Come participate in a panel style discussion featuring the lives and experiences of people who live beyond the gender binary. This program includes film clips representing different facets of gender variant experiences and a discussion on how to be an ally to the trans community.

      Queer Texas Hold'Em - West Dining East Conference Rooms
    Tuesday, May 22, 2007 -- 5-9pm
    A twist on Texas Hold'Em where Kings beat Queens and straights don't count. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Signup starts at 5pm, tournament starts at 5:30pm.

    Cockies, Boobcakes, Cockcakes and more. Come celebrate Queer Pride Week with a mouthful of erotic baked goods. All proceeds will be donated to a charitable cause.

      Lube Olympics and Drag Racing - MU Quad
    Wednesday, May 23, 2007 -- 12-2pm
    Bring your swim trunks for some wrasslin' in a pool of slime or just come watch some good ol' fun in the quad as we get down and dirty with safer sex paraphernalia! Later, participate in the drag races (no cars involved) for a chance to win prizes including tickets to the Drag Show!

      Fun in the Sun with Kids - MU Quad
    Wednesday, May 23, 2007 -- 3-5pm
    A family oriented event that will honor all families. This event will include many activities such as crafts, games, piñatas, potato sack races, three legged races, a slip 'n slide (bathing suit required), and a scavenger hunt. Bring the entire family for an afternoon of fun and games. Snacks provided.

      What's a ZINE? - Women's Center

    Ever wonder what a ‘ZINE’ is? Well, this is your chance to find out! Brief discussion of history, purpose, and the impact zines have had on various movements.

      Slumber Party and B Movies - Pride Center

    Just what is sex? Listen and join in a discussion where we find out how to define sex.

      Special Studies 199: Sex Toys - MU 208
    Thursday, May 24, 2007 -- 2-3:30pm
    All people over the age of 18 are welcome. This gender inclusive, queer-friendly, free workshop will teach you about the ways you can use sex toys to enhance sexual health and pleasure. You'll be introduced to a wide variety of items used to enhance your sexual experiences.

    The Building Community Awards celebrate and honor individuals who have made a positive impact on the LGBTQQIA community at OSU. Refreshments are provided. Entertainment will be provided by Extreme Dance Troop.

      Queer Vox
    Iovino's Ristorante (1st & Adam's)
    Thursday, May 24, 2007 -- 9pm
    A queer performance and open mic night at Iovino’s to provide a public space for LGBTQQIA people to speak about their experiences and show off their talents. A variety of performances: “I Got a Sex Change with my Best Friend” (video), The Heterosexual Agenda (Press Conference), drag performances, poetry, coming out monologues, and an open mic.

    Friday, May 25, 2007 -- 12-1pm
    Tab Dansby will speak about the time he spent traveling around the country to Christian colleges and universities on the 2007 Soulforce Equality Ride, having conversations about policies effecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in these campus communities, biblical interpretation, and the realities of his own life as a young, queer, poor transman of color. 

      Drag Show - MU Ballroom
    Friday, May 25, 2007 -- 8-10pm
    Join us for this free and fabulous end-of-Pride-Week drag show as Poison Waters (Portland's famous drag queen) emcees this glamorous, raucous drag show. Doors open at 7:15, all ticket holders must be in by 7:50pm or forfeit ticket. Limited availability general admission opens at 7:50pm. Free tickets available in Student Involvement (149 MU East) and the Pride Week Info Tent on 5/21.

      GenderFunk After Drag Show Dance - Club Escape

    What to do when the drag show ends? Join us in Club Escape for the post-drag show GenderFunk, featuring MORE performances by student drag performers, MORE dancing to great music, and MORE fabulous times in a fun club atmosphere.
