OSU Day at the Capitol
Mark your calendars! Beavers will invade the Oregon Capitol on April 14th, 2015. Stay tuned for details as the event nears.
OSU Day is one of the most visible advocacy days in Salem and reminds legislators of OSU’s role as one of only two land-, sea-, sun- and space-grant universities in the country. Each year, Oregon State University students, alumni, and supporters descend on the Capitol in Salem to share their OSU experiences and meet their legislators.
OSU Day 2015 Events include:
Morning: An OSU presence at opening floor ceremonies, including the OSU Color Guard, OSU Chamber Choir, and selected visitors on the Senate Floor with Senators who are OSU alumni.
All day: Individual meetings with legislators, booths in the Galleria, pictures with Benny, and more!
11:00: Q&A with Governor Kate Brown's Education Policy Advisor. Open to all OSU supporters.
12:00: OSU Public Policy Info Session.
12:15: A performance by OSU Chamber Choir in the Capitol Rotunda.
2:30: Free Capitol Tour. (Participants must register in advance.)
3:45: Beaver Nation Group Photo on the Capitol Steps.
4:15 – 5:30: A reception in the Capitol Galleria, including an award for the smartest legislator in the Assembly. Each year, legislators are challenged to move to the head of the class by demonstrating how much they know about OSU. Test your Beaver knowledge - take the OSU Quiz then see how you did!
6:35: Beaver Baseball will play just up the road at Volcanoes Stadium. Get your tickets today!
