Graduate Level Initial Licensure Program,
Early Childhood/Elementary Education

Justin Roach student teaching at King Elementary This is the general structure of the program. The description is subject to change as the program is typically in a state of continuous change and improvement.

We offer full-time and part-time programs. The full-time program, outlined below, can be completed in one academic year. Students take about 12 ecampus credit hours per term. Students are in class or are in the field five days a week, all day, from late August to the end of Spring Quarter. The part-time program, which is intended for individuals who can not attend school full time, can be completed in two academic years. In the part-time program, students take between 6-8 credits per term, and they do their full-time student teaching in the Spring Quarter of the second year.

The classes in the "Immersion" program are held on-site in Portland and Salem. The classes in the part-time program are offered on weekends, so students in this program can expect to have classes three weekends per term. (Typically, weekend classes begin on Friday, 4:30pm, and end by noon on Sunday. All classes are held on the Corvallis campus.).
