The agenda for the October Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below. To be approved are the minutes of the June Senate meeting, as published and distributed to Senators.
 
 
A. DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. Central Oregon

Gordon Matzke will discuss faculty participation, Henry Sayre will discuss program content and Bruce Sorte will discuss the budgetary impact for the proposed Central Oregon OSU campus.
2. Legislative Issues

B. COMMITTEE REPORT

1. Bylaws and Nominations Committee

Ken Williamson, Chair, will discuss the nomination process for Faculty Senate President-Elect and Executive Committee and Interinstitutional Faculty Senators.

C. INFORMATION ITEMS

1. Faculty Senate Fall Elections

Ken Williamson, Bylaws and Nominations Chair, is accepting recommendations for 1) President-Elect, 2) Executive Committee members, and 3) Interinstitutional Faculty Senate representatives. Nominations may be forwarded to him in Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering or via electronic mail at kenneth.williamson@orst.edu. Deadline for nominations is October 6. NOTE: If Senators wish to make a nomination from the floor at the November meeting, they must have prior approval from the nominee.
2. Faculty Senate Calendar 

Please reserve the following dates for Faculty Senate meetings. Please check 
your monthly agenda to determine the location. All meetings are scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM.

			November 2, 2000	 March 1, 2001
			December 7, 2000	 April 5, 2001
			January 4, 2001		   May 3, 2001
			February 1, 2001	  June 7, 2001
3. Creating and Sustaining a Quality Learning Environment

All faculty and teaching assistants are invited to a teaching and learning professional development forum to reflect on the principles, ideas and strategies used to create and sustain a quality learning environment in classes. The forum will be held October 2 from 3:30-5:00 in Memorial Union 206. Faculty are encouraged to bring ideas about teaching and learning conversations that should be initiated or continued as part of professional development for 2000-01.
4. Curriculum Proposal Workshop

Anyone interested in learning more about the Curricular Review Process is invited to attend a Curriculum Proposal Workshop on October 6 from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in 102 Owen Hall. This workshop will provide information about submitting successful Category I and II curriculum proposals: what they are, where you can find the forms and status reports, how to fill out and submit the forms, and the review process.
5. Central Oregon Faculty Forum

All faculty are invited to attend a Central Oregon Faculty Forum on October 12 from 12:30-2:00 in the LaSells Stewart Center Construction and Engineering Hall.
