Redmaid (Calandrinia ciliata) flowers are small, about 1/2 inch in diameter.

Redmaid (Calandrinia ciliata)

Flowers are perfect (have male and female structures), they have 5 purple petals, numerous bright yellow stamens (male flower parts that release pollen), and 3 stigma (female flower structures) which are difficult to discern.

Flowers are generally open only when the sun shines.  This characteristic, as well as the fact that flowers only have two sepals, is consistent with all plants in the family Portulacaceae.
