Pineapple weed (Matricaria matricarioides) flower heads are yellow,
1/4 to 1/2 inch wide, and comprised of many disk flowers. Pineapple
weed flower heads lack petal-like ray flowers. Flower heads are numerous
on each plant and occur solitary at the terminal end of branches.
The involucre (whorl of leaves or bracts just below the flower or flower
head) is imbricate (overlapping) and scarious (dry and paper-like).
