Mouseear chickweed (Cerastium vulgatum) flowers are white with
5 petals.
Flower buds occur at the end of relatively leafless stems.
Flower petals remian tightly closed until the sun is shining bright (not
too often in Oregon), so much that they appear to form a fused tube instead
of separate petals.
Flowers are white and have 5 deeply lobed petals.
