Buckhorn plantain is a perennial that spreads by seed.
Plants initially form a rosette 8 to 12 inches tall and wide. As indicated by its name, foliage is lanceolate in shape.
Flower spikes occur on leafless flowering stems that grow 12 to 16 inches in height.
Spikes are approximately 1 inch in length, with green to white flowers.
