Broadleaf dock (Rumex obtusifolius) seedlings are easy to recognize.

Cotyledons are narrow and somewhat elliptical.  First true leaves are chordate (heart shaped).

You know the old saying, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree"?  Well, that seems to be the case for broadleaf dock seed.  I've seen this occur many times, where seeds to fall within inches of the mother plant and germinate.
