- Broadleaf deciduous shrub, bushy, to 8 ft (2.5 m) tall. Leaves alternate, simple, about 2 cm
long and 1 cm wide, broadly obovate, oval or elliptic, apex obtuse with a few teeth or entire, base wedge-
shaped, upper surface glabrous, dark green, blue-green below; petioles to 3 mm. Blooms in spring.
Flowers white, about 8 mm wide, crowded at the terminal, petals longer than stamens, clusters to 4 cm wide.
