Rhododendron ‘Pink Walloper’               (syn. ‘Lem's Monarch’)

• Broadleaf evergreen shrub, 6 ft (1.8 m), dense, wider than tall.  Leaves alternate, simple, large, dark green, often with reddish petioles.  Flowers pink with darker edge, in large, heavy clusters (15 cm or more).
• - 5^o F, mid, quality rating 4-5/4-5/4-5 [flower / plant & foliage / performance; scale 1 (poor) - 5 (best)].  Sun or moderate shade.
• According to Greer (1996) this is the same plant as 'Lem's Monarch'.   It was apparently discovered by Dr. Frank Mossman in the hybrids of Halfdan Lem during a visit to Mr. Lem.
