Dissected Japanese Maple                        A-ser pal-MAY-tum dis-SEK-tum

• Broadleaf deciduous, small compact mound, dense.  Leaves feathery, with 7-11 lobes cut to point of attachment, each lobe finely cut and each division toothed.  Cultivars vary in fineness and color of leaves.  Some have good fall color, from yellow-gold to red.
• Sun to part shade.
• The Dissectum Group, as described by van Gelderen, D.M., P.C. de Jong, and H. J. Oterdoom (1994, p. 270), includes cultivars that have green leaves, purple or brown leaves, sometimes fading to green, or variegated leaves.
