SPACE PLANNING

Facilities Services implements the OSU Space Allocation Model for all OSU building space in accordance with the OSU Space Standards and Policies. The standards were developed to maximize the utilization, longevity, and flexibility of OSU facilities.

The OSU Space Allocation Model, approved by OSU in October 2007, includes three primary procedures:

Phase I: Tactical Space Audit:

• Overall analysis of campus,

• OUS Facilities Standards and Guidelines applied,

• Standards and Guidelines comparable with national space standards,

• Space inventory is baseline data, and

• Four space categories evaluated: (if applicable)

  1. Office and Related

  2. Class Lab and Related

  3. Research Lab and Related; and

  4. Other
