This phase is a public facing web application which assists students in searching for Scholarships available and administered at Oregon State University.
The searchable scholarship database requirements were developed from interviews with key stakeholders on campus by the Business Solutions Group at the College of Business, and have received sign-off from the steering committee. It will be introduced to the workgroup for final approval in an upcoming kick-off meeting. The application is currently under development in Enterprise Computing. We expect the tool to be available to users soon.
The Fund Management phase is intended to assist departments in reconciling scholarship funds between OSU and the OSU Foundation. We have proposed a change in the accounting for reimbursements to be similar to the new procedures being put in place for non-scholarship reimbursements from the Foundation. In addition there would be some new tools available to scholarship administrators that include OSU and Foundation information (such as available to spend balances).
We are currently in development with the OSU Foundation and OSU Business offices and will have updates available soon.
This phase is intended to assist colleges and departments by automating portions of the award process. It will include a common scholarship application with limited departmental specific questions. Other features will include a reporting and extract feature that will allow administrators to sort and filter potential awardees.
Phase 3 is currently being developed as a pilot in conjunction with the College of Engineering. This pilot phase will be used as a model for a campus wide tool we hope to make available next year.
We have established this phase as a placeholder at this time to consider additional tools that may assist scholarship administrators. However, due to the improvements and changes in process we have outlined in the previous phases, it is unclear what additional tools may be necessary until these phases are more completely defined.
