Wrong:
Please set the package by the door that I wrapped. (It is not clear whether you should place the package by the door or if the door was wrapped)
Correct:
Here is the package I wrapped; please set it by the door.
I wrapped the package; please set it by the door.
Wrong:
Let me know if you'll meet me in the park near the zoo or the café. (Is the park near the zoo or the café? Or is the park meeting place near the zoo or café ?)
Correct:
Let me know if you'll meet me in the park near the zoo or the park near the cafe.
Let me know if you'll meet me near the park's zoo or near the park's café.
Wrong:
Samuel decided the next day to begin exercising. (Did Samuel make a decision the next day or will he begin to exercise the next day?)
Correct:
The next day, Samuel decided to begin exercising.
Samuel decided to begin exercising the next day.
Wrong:
The new born baby has only a face that his mother could love. (Is his face the sole thing his mother could love?)
The new born baby has a face that his mother only could love. (Is the mother the sole person who could feel love his face?)
The new born baby has a face that his mother could only love (Is love the sole emotion the mother could feel for his face?)
Correct:
His face is is the only thing his mother could love. Only his face could his mother love. (His face is the sole feature his mother could love)
Only his mother could love the new born baby's face. (His mother is the sole person who could love that face)
Only love could his mother feel for the new born baby's face (Love is the sole emotion the mother could feel)
