Duties: Kimmie works in the berry crops breeding program at the NWREC (led by Dr. Bernadine Strik and Dr. Chad Finn). She helps establish and manage breeding plots for advanced selections and cultivars from the USDA-ARS & OSU Cooperative Berry Crops Breeding Program. Kimmie coordinates the data collection (yield and berry quality) required to evaluate potential new cultivars.
Research Interests: include conservation of wildlife habitats and surrounding ecosystems. This involves improving farming techniques and increasing crop yields as well as spreading the importance of protecting wildlife habitat within the growing acreage of farmland.
Education: Oregon State University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Science.
