Discovering Willamette Valley Agriculture: The Economic Opportunities, Challenges and Issues

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the agriculture in your own backyard, just south of Portland? Discovering Willamette Valley Agriculture is a course designed to give you an opportunity to learn about agriculture from professionals and farmers. You will learn what it takes to make a living as a member of a farming family, making decisions that impact your financial statements. You will also learn about the most prominent agricultural issues facing farmers in the valley today. This course is designed for K-‐12 educators, county commissioners, state legislators, high school and university students, as well as interested community members with little or no agricultural background, and is offered through Oregon State University. Courses and materials taught will be prepared by university faculty who specialize in each subject.
