The Aviation Leadership concentration is designed to respond to the interests of students graduating each year with an Aviation AAOT from Lane Community College and other two-year programs who wish to pursue a four year degree that combines their aviation training with a broad Liberal Arts degree. The emphasis of the concentration is not on aviation or aerospace, but rather on leadership, communication, cultural awareness and developing an understanding of the role science and technology in society from a Liberal Studies perspective. The goal of the degree option is to provide students who have had specialized, often technically-oriented training, with the opportunity to complete and broaden their education by developing some of the skills and knowledge provided by the Liberal Arts.
The Option consists of a minimum of 45 credits of coursework (27 credits upper division) to be taken from the following areas: Leadership, Communication Skills, Cultural Awareness, and The Role of Science and Technology in Society.
