Concentration in natural resources and communities includes
management of resources available to a community and ways to improve
quality of life. Focus is on such resource management concepts as
sustainability, community values, institutional arrangements, and adaptive
strategies. This approach includes the identification of community assets,
the assessment of options, and the applications of anthropology adapting
to the future. Consideration is given to the equity impacts of resource
conservation and development. This concentration is of international as
well as domestic importance.
