Description: Looking for volunteers
to help out at Cooped Up in Corvallis. Help is needed in directing the public
at host sites, taking pictures, and assisting with a variety of workshops at
the event's headquarters.

Corvallis Sustainability Coalition: Interviewers/writers for
Local Business of the Week project: This is an ongoing opportunity.
When:
There
is an immediate need for interviewers/writers. We hope to have our first round
of interviews/articles ready for the launch of the project on July 1, 2012.
Looking for volunteers who would be doing one interview/article per
month. I estimate that the total commitment (interview plus writing the
article) would take about 4-6 hours per month. The commitment (interview
plus writing) could be spread out over time and is pretty flexible in terms of
when the work would be done.
Where:
Interview
will be at the place of business and writing could be done wherever the
volunteer wants.
Description: There will be a brief
meeting to talk about the purpose of the project, the guidelines, and
expectations. The date and time of the meeting will be arranged once
we've identified volunteers.
Need volunteers with communications skills. This project
would be perfect for students who are majoring in Business, Communications,
English, Journalism, or any other majors that involve business and/or writing.

OSU's 10th Annual Divine Nine Step Show
When:

LaSells Stewart Center
Description: Volunteers needed to
help for "day of" committee. The first 25 people to volunteer 5+
hours will get a free ticket into the show. There are 6 positions for
volunteers, with a variety of different shifts. The earliest of the shifts
starts at 12, and the last ends around 11pm. If interested, indicate when you
are available, as well as if you would like to work more than a 2-3 hour shift.

Annual New Balance Girls on the Run 1K/5k
When:

June 2nd shifts between 6:30am to 1pm
Where:
Reser Stadium
Description: Volunteers
can help with cheering and directing girls on the course, running with and
encouraging Girls on the Run participants, assisting with starting and
finish line mechanics, and much more. The race is an outdoor event
beginning and ending at Reser Stadium, and volunteers should be prepared for
Oregon’s unpredictable weather. Parking is available in the Reser stadium
parking lot. Volunteers check in with the Volunteer coordinator at the
tent labeled “Volunteer Check-in.”

The Arts Center Weekly Volunteer

City Hall Ambassadors Volunteer Program

Meals on Wheels Fundraiser Project
When:
Flexible.
Would be a one day project hopefully this winter or spring term. Approximately
2 hours.

Downtown Corvallis
– different businesses around Corvallis
Description: Meals on Wheels
of Benton County provides meal assistance to low-income individuals and
individuals with disabilities by delivering hot meals to their homes.
Unfortunately, MOW is struggling financially as many of the government grants
and assistance are being cut. During this project, participants would receive a
30 minute training by Diane Harvey, MOW Director, which would describe the
project, MOW, and allow for any questions by the volunteers. Volunteers will be
presenting ask letters to local businesses and help coordinate a fundraiser
with the business for MOW. Need approximately 5-10 people.
