At around 6:00pm, previously affected systems have returned to normal operation. This includes email, central authentication services, and web services.
As a reminder, at 10:00am Sunday morning, there will be planned emergency electrical maintenance with potential impact on the OSU network. The potential impact is projected to be less than one hour. This maintenance is needed to service equipment that was affected by today’s power outage.
We urge you to reach out to the Service Desk if you have any questions or concerns.

As of 3:00pm, we are still working to bring network-based services online after this morning’s power outage. As of this writing, email, central authentication services, and many web services are unreachable. We will have more information for you at 6:00pm.

Update: 12:00 p.m. 12/17/16
Oregon State University Community,
As of 11:45am, We are continuing to work on the disruption to network service for the Corvallis Campus. Some network services have been restored, but many applications are not yet back online. Due to the nature of this outage and the involvement of the utility company, we anticipate that further disruptions are possible today. We will provide another update by 3:00pm with more information.

At 8:45am, we became aware of a widespread network outage at the Corvallis campus. This outage was caused by a power failure in the Kerr administration building where teams are currently on-site making repairs. We currently do not have an ETA for a return to normal service but will post an update by 12:00pm with more information.
