Backpacking in The Gulch, Grand Staircase-Escalante N.M., Utah

Presently, I am a Water Resources PhD student and NSF IGERT - Ecosytem Informatics Fellow in the Department of Geosciences, Oregon State University. Prior to my arrival in Oregon, my course has taken me from my roots in the Adirondack region of New York, to school, research, and jobs across the diverse lands of New England, the Intermountain West, and now the Pacific Northwest.

Along the way, I was fortunate enough to meet my wife, Phoebe, while attending Colby College. We both share a passion for natural systems and the pursuit of better understanding them. Hence, she is also engaged in a PhD degree through the Zoology Department at Oregon State University. Her work entails the integration of GIS tools and large-scale biological data sets to create habitat and invasion predictive models for native and exotic species.

We currently live in the northwest part of Corvallis, Oregon, where we appreciably share our space with our best furry friend, Kenai. He is a large ~4.5 year old chocolate lab that we adopted as a puppy from the Cache Humane Society while living in Utah.

Aside from graduate work, I keep myself busy with gardening, cooking, zymurgy, photography, hiking, camping, and skiing...for that matter, just about any excuse to get outside is generally welcomed!
