Leonhard Euler |
Each of the test files below displays Euler's result that the sum of the squares of the reciprocals of the positive integers is the square of pi divided by 6. Euler discovered this fact in 1734 and published a proof in a textbook in 1748. |

Browser Test Files |
You will need to be able to view PDF files to view most of the mathematical documents on this web site. Your browser may be configured to display Adobe PDF files by means of the Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin, or may use the Acrobat Reader as a separately launched viewer, or you can run the Reader as a separate application yourself, to view PDF files. Recent versions of GhostView-Ghostscript will also display PDF files. There are a number of other viewers available as well.
In case of problems with the PDF files check here.
Not all viewers run as plugins. However, your browser can be configured to view just about any type of file by launching the appropriate application, provided the application is on your system. If you are not sure if your browser has been properly configured try the small test files below.
