I am a forester who speaks Russian, Ukrainian, and English. I have graduated from the College of Forestry of the National Agricultural University of Ukraine. After that, I defended my Master's degree in Forest Resources in the College of Forestry of the Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. I was recently selected for the position of Research Assistant with the EFFE project at the European Forest Institute (EFI) in Finland. I arrived to Joensuu (Finland) on July 2, 2002. I will work with the EFFE project for 2.5 years. Here are my first impressions on Finnish land. I also continue to manage my webpage on Forestry in Ukraine. Most of my life I lived in the beautiful city of Kiev. My family and friends live in Ukraine, and I miss them very much. Email: olga.zyrina@efi.fi
