LED flashlight

I love to camp, and since getting married my husband hates it, and I am just not really sure how to convince him that it will be fun. Quite honestly one would think that I am the guy in this relationship and that he is the girl. After all, isn’t it usually the woman who gripes about not having running water, convenient bathrooms, and her own bed? I think so.

I was a girl scout for 11 years and I always went camping with them and we always had a blast. I love to sleep in my sleeping bag under the stars. It is a really incredible experience to be one with nature. I even remember going winter camping, and to know this you must know that I am not a cold weather person. I remember waking up over and over again in the night because my feet were freezing. Then I finally realized that the reason I was freezing is I was wearing 3 pairs of socks to try and keep warm, and instead of keeping me warm they were making my feet sweat and that was what was making them so cold. I learned and the next night wearing only one pair of warm socks really helped.

I really want to camp with him, but he has trouble sleeping anyway, so he can not really envision sleeping on the ground. I know that I could get him to camp in a cabin with running water, but to me that just isn’t camping. If I want to stay indoors, then put me up at a four star hotel, not in a cabin in the woods. In my opinion, the thing that makes camping so amazing is the roughing it. The becoming one with nature experience of it all. I think that if he could just have the experience of it all, he would really like it. Maybe I could get him a personal sized air mattress, maybe that would be enough of a compromise to get him to try it for a weekend?

Well, I don’t really know if it is worth buying him an air mattress seeing as I already bought him a top of the line LED flashlight for camping and instead he uses it around the house. I don’t think at this point that he will ever consider venturing out into the wilderness with me, but it won’t stop me from trying!
