Ohio state
May 21, 2008 – 4:09 pmOnly one more year to go. After that it is off to some big, beautiful graduate school in the sky. So many dreams will come true and fantasies played out in reality. Well, maybe something like that. I am sure it will be as fun as school is now, but I will have so much more freedom because all of my work will be research and writing. Even though I still haven’t figured out what school I will go to, for history majors that is really what graduate school is. When I am not thinking about the undergrad work I have right now, I am researching all the different schools I would like to go to for my master’s degree. The school I have been looking in to this week is Ohio State. The Ohio State University has a great history department and it comes highly recommended to me by many students I have befriended in various history departments. Last week I toured the school for the weekend and made all of my notes. Next week I will go across the state and look in to another private school that has a nice history department. I have it planned out so that I will see a different school each week for the next two months and then I will take one week to compare all of my notes and make my final decision about what school I will go to. So far I think that has been my favorite. When I tell all of my friends about my quest for the perfect program, they all look at me like I am totally insane. I just think that it is my future and I should at least be sure that I am spending sixty thousand dollars on something I feel confident about. Plus, I am such a great student in my own way that I can manage to balance out my three point five grade point average and my constant journeying across the country without missing a beat or an assignment. I guess it it is just all part of my own personal work ethic that I see is totally uncompromising.
