Pet meds

When my son was sixteen he asked if we would get him a dog.  It had been two years since our last dog died and it was probably about time to get another.  He wanted a dog and I said that I wanted one that did not shed.  I had already had a French Poodle and she was a trip.  She was a great dog but did like to express her displeasure at being left home alone.  She wasn’t left alone very often but, when she was, she would pull the toilet paper all around the house.  She would go to the wastebasket and empty all of the tissues around the house.  She definitely did not like to be left alone.  She believed we owed it to her to stay home.  Her diet was also an issue.  My mother spoiled her considerably.  She only ate chicken and roast beef.  My mother frequently made chicken and roast beef especially for Baby (the dog’s name, how appropriate) and, when my mother became ill, I used to go to the local deli to buy roast beef to feed the dog.  Thank heavens she was small and did not have a big appetite.

When it was time to get a dog for my son, I said that I wanted a Bichon.  A bichon is a descendant of a poodle and is similar as they do not shed either.  My son was agreeable to this as long as he could have a dog.

He was very zealous in his search for a bichon.  I told him it had to be a female because I have always had female dogs.  He agreed and began actively searching the newspapers for bichon puppies.  He learned that the ads for dogs for sale only changed on Wednesdays and he would come home from school and search that day’s newspaper for puppies for sale.  One day his prayers were answered and he found an ad for two female bichons for sale.  Unfortunately, after I spoke with the lady selling the puppies, I found that they were at the very end of Long Island, very far from our home.  My son was so excited he wanted to leave immediately.  I explained that I would not want to drive that far alone (it was about 80 miles from our home) and his Dad was not coming home until late that evening as he had a meeting.  My son was very disappointed and upset because he was afraid the puppies would be gone before we could get there.  Along came his older sister to the rescue.  Although she usually had social engagements, tonight she had none.  When she heard was had happened she volunteered to drive us to see the puppies. It was a very long drive but we finally arrived at our destination.  When the lady opened the door, there were two puppies, one on each side of her.  My two children ran in the door and said “that’s the puppy I want”.  Of course, they both had different puppies in view.  I bought both puppies, one for my son and one as my daughter’s birthday present, and returned home.  My husband was furious when he saw two puppies in the kitchen but our marriage survived, barely.

As is normal, the puppies had worms.  I obtained Pet Meds for the puppies and they helped considerable.  I then took them to the vet who prescribed some additional pet meds to prevent future problems.  All worked well and the puppies were very healthy from that time on.
